What’s Better Than a Cheap GPS Tracker?

17/02/2017Matt Cooper

What’s better than a cheap GPS tracker?

How about free GPS tracking? Once you’ve purchased your GPS tracking device and 3-year data SIM card, there no ongoing monthly fees to use the Free Vehicle Tracking platform.

What’s In The Box?

We often get asked by people “what’s in the box” when purchasing a device for the Free Vehicle Tracking platform. Watch this video where our Director, Matt Cooper, walks you through the package contents for our AX9 OBDII plug and play device that was posted out to our recent competition winner.

The AX9: A Simple Plug and Play GPS Device

A compact, well built OBDII GPS device with an easy plug-and-play connection that you can install yourself. Most modern vehicles have an OBDII port which resides in the footwell area of the car, just under the dash near the steering wheel.

Getting Started Guide

A user-friendly guide is also included which will walk you through a number of simple steps including:

  • getting the SIM card registered;
  • installing the device in the car;
  • setting up a Free Vehicle Tracking account online; and
  • activating the AX9 GPS device on the account.

3-Year Data SIM Card

All of our GPS devices on the Free Vehicle Tracking platform come included with a 3 year data SIM card that connects to the Telstra NextG network in Australia. This provides the widest level of coverage throughout Australia. The SIM card is pre-installed in the GPS device and is ready to go once the SIM card has been activated.

OBDII Pass Through Cable (Optional)

The OBDII pass through cable is an ideal accessory to move the GPS device out of harm’s way in the footwell area of the car. The main benefits in doing this are to:

  • allow for a covert install of the plug and play device;
  • remove the need for a mechanic to unplug the device during servicing; and
  • stop the device from being kicked and damaged by fly away feet.

The cable has a double-sided end with both a male and female connectors. The female side can be plugged straight into the existing vehicle OBDII port and the GPS device mounted on the other end. Optionally, the car OBDII port can be unclipped from its mount and the pass through cable mounted in its place. The GPS device can then be mounted up under the dash with cable ties making it completely concealed.

Hi Mark, sorry about not responding to this but for some reason we were not being notified on blog comments. We have a special on the plug ‘n play devices a the moment which are down from $749 to $549. This includes 3 years of free tracking. The cable is normally $40 but we will throw one in for free if you place an order in the next 14 days.
